Departure starts at 8:00am --> Eger arrival 09:50-10:10am (depends on number of pickups) --> Aggtelek arrival 12:30pm

Timetable between Budapest, Eger and Aggtelek

As private transfer available, you can choose time of departure and you can choose how many time spend in each location.

Budapest departures at 8:00-8:30am (as we pick up everybody from address). Recommended pick up time only, you can choose different timing.

Eger arrivals 10:00-10:20am, if you wish to come to Eger only, you can get off in the center of the town and can spend up to 5 hours in Eger until the bus returns.

Aggtelek arrivals 12:30pm latest as tour starts at 1pm.

Possible to choose different cave entrances and different routes. Min. 1-1.5 hrs inside the cave.

Possible to see Eger on the way back also. If you wish to arrange english speaking wine tasting in local winery, please contact us.

Aggtelek caves, entry fees, about the tour

Aggtelek karst cave system is the largest one in Hungary, protected by UNESCO. The tour takes about 60min. about 1 km walking. Lights available on the way. You have to join a group and professional tour guide. You can discover this breathtaking underworld, where cavemen lived first. The tour goes through the 'Concert Hall', Hall of Pillars and many other fantastic sculptures.

Entry fee : 2400 HUF/p (7 €), family (2 adults with 1 child) 1700 HUF/p (5 €). You can pay with card.

Things to see and do in Eger

Eger is a small baroque town in Northern Hungary. It is a very popular tourist place, thanks to its cozy atmosphere, the historical places like Fortress of Eger, Turkish Minaret, Basilica. Eger known for its wine also. Home of the Bull's blood (cabernet type of red wine), you can find many wineries in the downtown area. Eger downtown is perfect for a walk with its baroque small streets, popular cake shops, coffee bars and pubs. The historical Fortress of Eger can be found in the downtown.

About the route from Budapest to Eger and Eger to Aggtelek

From Budapest bus goes to Eger mostly on highway. from Eger it goes through the scenic Bukk mountains and Aggtelek Karst Hills to arrive to Aggtelek caves.

How to dress up for the trip?

There is about 10-12 degree celsius (53 fahrenheit)inside the cave, so a light sweater would be useful.
